Beleolico

Beleolico

  • Location: Outer harbour of the Port of Taranto.
  • Total production: 58,200 MWh/year

The Beleolico marine wind farm is the first to be built in the Mediterranean Sea and is located on an area of approximately 131,000 square metres and a 455 square metre maritime area, granted for 30 years by the Taranto Port Authority and handed over to the company in April 2019.

Description: The plant is composed of 10 turbines for a total power of about 30 MW and a consequent estimated production of over 58,000 MWh/year, equal to the energy needs of 18,500 families / 60,000 people.

Maryland

Maryland

  • Location: approximately 7 miles off the coast of Ocean City, Maryland, U.S.A.
  • Total output: 900 GWh/year for the first of three sections

The wind farm off the Atlantic coast will supply energy to about 500,000 households in Maryland, covering 40 per cent of the state’s green energy needs.

Description: the project involves the installation of 187 Turbines on over 80.000 acres of ocean, with a total capacity of approximately 1.920 MW.

Med Wind

Med Wind

  • Location: over 80 km from the Sicilian coast.
  • Total output: ~ 9 TWh/year.

It represents the first floating technology plant in the Mediterranean Sea, a plant capable of meeting the domestic electricity annual needs of 3.4 million households.

Description: Located in the Sicilian channel, more than 80 km off the western coast, it will consist of 190 floating turbines with an installed capacity of about 2.8 GW and an estimated annual production of almost 9TWh.

Sardinia1 and 2

Sardinia1 and 2

The project, currently at a preliminary stage, consists of two floating technology wind farms with an installed capacity of 825 MW and 555 MW, located off the coast of southern Sardinia.
