The purpose of the agreement is to create a <em>newco<\/em> that can start an industrial site in Italy for the production of most of the turbine components, starting with the realization of Med Wind,<\/strong> the most important floating offshore wind farm project in the Mediterranean, off the coast of Trapani, and for which <strong>Renexia today presented the Environmental Impact Study<\/strong>, after an extensive series of in-depth and accurate environmental and economic feasibility studies, which lasted years and required a significant investment.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement also aims to support, over time, the entry of new Italian entities into the shareholding structure and to encourage investments, including international ones, capable of <strong>growing this sector in our country, and to position ourselves as a key player<\/strong> in offshore and onshore wind related supplies in the entire Mediterranean basin and North Africa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>This important agreement allows us to develop turbine production in Italy and a national supply chain that will be extremely competitive. The agreement fully meets the intentions that our two ministries and governments intend to pursue in developing partnerships in green technology<\/em>\u201c said Minister Urso.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RENEXIA LEADS OFFSHORE FLOATING WIND DEVELOPMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With the launch of this collaboration, <strong>our country will have the opportunity to create a national industrial supply chain to contribute concretely to the development of such a strategic and important sector as floating offshore wind<\/strong>, and overcome the heavy bottlenecks that, at the moment characterize the supply chain in Europe and the US. In fact, it should be considered that a large part of the components for offshore wind are available, with timelines compatible with the decarbonization program established by the EU and Italy, only outside European borders, and in particular in China, where the specialized industry for this sector has made giant strides in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe partnership signed today will allow us to create <em>a value chain that also involves domestic companies, in floating offshore wind, within our borders. In this way we will offer a valuable contribution to hit the goals of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan, and to support the Mattei Plan \u201c<\/em> &#8211; comments Riccardo Toto, Renexia General Manager.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Today&#8217;s signing is part of the cooperation agreement between Mimit and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the People&#8217;s Republic of China<\/strong>, prepared during Minister Urso&#8217;s mission to Beijing in early July (on that occasion a meeting between Mingyang and Renexia, chaired by the Minister, took place at our embassy, preparatory to the signing of today&#8217;s Memorandum) then signed during the recent mission of the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MED WIND, A LARGE FLOATING OFFSHORE WIND FARM PROJECT IS ALSO A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR NEW SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/renexia.it\/en\/med-wind-projects\/\">Med Wind<\/a> is the project of <strong>an offshore wind farm invisible from the coast, with high-power turbines, to produce clean energy by harnessing the power of the wind, for Sicily and Italy.<\/strong> It will be highly environmentally sustainable: thanks to innovative \u201cfloating\u201d technology, the structures will be floating and not embedded in the seabed. It is a very ambitious and cutting-edge project that brings together and best expresses the Renexia model to make a strategic contribution to the energy transition.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, <strong>Med Wind represents a 2.8 GW power plant that will be able to meet the needs of 3.4 million households<\/strong>, and it has the size and characteristics to start a specialized industrial chain in Italy, to date not present in any other country. It will also guarantee important spillovers on employment, given the high technological specialization required by floating offshore wind and the cruciality of this technology in the Italian and European energy transition.<\/p>\n<p><em>With the start of this important collaboration, Renexia not only consolidates its role as a pioneer in floating offshore wind, but also marks a decisive step
