It represents the first floating technology plant in the Mediterranean Sea, a plant capable of meeting the annual needs of 3.4 million households.

The wind farm off the Atlantic coast will supply energy to about 500,000 households in Maryland, covering 40 per cent of the state’s green energy needs.

The Beleolico marine wind farm is the first to be built in the Mediterranean Sea and is located on an area of approximately 131,000 square metres and a 455 square metre maritime area, granted for 30 years by the Taranto Port Authority and handed over to the company in April 2019.
